What can I expect from becoming a member?
Strangely, this cafe requires that all lesbians bring their own coffee (or beverage of choice). Just take a seat at your computer, and theLcafe will introduce you to new friends, lesbian chats, diverse lesbians and bisexual women of all ages – some of whom are single lesbians, others whom are happily partnered lesbians. TheLcafe will also provide you with an event calendar, online games, and the option to blog, journal, upload videos and join a lesbian group chat.

Is joining this site a good idea if I am in a happy lesbian relationship already?
As a lesbian couple's therapist, I am acutely aware of just how isolated lesbians tend to become once they get into relationships. Often, when lesbians fall in love they tend to neglect their friendships, and sometimes even lose friends. Lesbians also tend to neglect themselves, and their own interests. The energy that goes into starting up a lesbian relationship can sometimes cause couples to stop nurturing friendships, and over time, the couple often feels disconnected or socially unstimulated. TheLcafe is a perfect option for partnered lesbians who want to broaden their circles of friendships, reinvest in yourself, and your social activity, lesbian connections, and passions.
Because the function on this site for expressing romantic lesbian interest in other women requires mutual interest, partnered lesbians are safe from receiving romantic lines that are cast from other members - as long as you do not cast any lines yourself! Who is behind theLcafe and what's the goal?
My name is Michele O'Mara and I am a psychotherapist in Indianapolis, Indiana with a practice that specializes with LGBT folks, and in particular single lesbians and partnered lesbians. Over the last decade plus, I have worked hard to create opportunities for lesbians to connect, and while I have had some great success in doing this, I consistently feel like there is more I should be doing.
I have met a few thousand lesbians during the last 15 years and there are so many amazing, talented, beautiful, interesting, and likeable women who are disconnected. So many women who wish to expand their network of friends. So many lesbians who want to find a healthy way to meet new lesbians. The internet has been an intimidating place for a lot of lesbians, particularly older lesbians who are 50+ years. My hope is that theLcafe offers a safe, happy place for all lesbians wishing to connect.
I am blessed with a beautiful wife, Teresa, whom I married in 2000. In 2002 we welcomed our twin sons Mitchell and Cameron to the world. I have a great family and the support of my parents, Bill and Karen, and I am so grateful, everyday, for the goodness all around me.
I wish that for everyone - to feel at peace in your skin, and in your life, and to live your dreams. If I can assist in any part of that for you, in even a small way, then my life is enriched.
